Meeting with Bryan to go over discounts. We have some requests to allow for better permissions and/or reporting on discounts that are being applied. I have some notes on the subject on my computer. - Bryan was showing me a discount error with 100% discount and it not showing up on the daily/weekly report (Ram from Highland Vineyards showed us the error/bug) - it may be something to do with possible logic and/or where things show up (roll call reporting). Bascially, Ram wants to get some accountabilty on where those discounts are coming from and/or going to. - It might be nice to be able to see the in-line discounts on the daily/weekly. The old way (going back) used to show standalone discounts on that daily/week report page. Maybe we need to show the in-line discounts to help with reporting. as a side note, this is known issue... it doesn't show up in any reports. - The advanced invoice line search and the super advanced invoice line search need to show/hide the discounts and be able to search things. I briefly showed Bryan where I would love for this report to go and/or be built out to. Similar to the advanced customer search or advanced time search, I would love for the sales and invoice line items report to be built out to the point and click level, where you could select exactly what should be shown and how to filter it. Currently, that report (sales and invoice line items) has hardcoded columns. It might be nice if we could get more flexibility out of that report. - Steve built a custom discount report. It shows in-line percentages off per line. It would be nice if it showed dollars off per line and also mixed discounts per line. The page is: custom/sales_salesperson_specific_discounts.cfm - this report needs some help as well. - Showing and searching discounts are a known hole. They are easy to apply but not as easy to search right now. We need to provide access to that data through the normal reports. - Just as a follow-up, there might be a permission "no price changes in cart mode" that limit discounts (I'll have to check that deeper). There are also some discount settings in corp-wide settings, such as require a manager's approval, etc. We may need to tighten some of these up and/or explain them in further detail. |
