AU 3617 Daily Tasks 3/3/2015   • Answering emails and phone messages.
• On the phone with Steve. We talked about different projects, needs, and who is on what project. We also talked about prices for 3rd party solutions and prices for general API socket usage. I really want to keep the general API sockets open and free.
• Went in to Bridgerland to work. Worked with an intern on World Building and database work. I spent some time with an intern on Black Boxes and direction there. We even called Steve. See notes.
• I worked with an intern on doing edits and coding the edit process. Two interns and I did a brainstorming session on black boxes, API sockets, and structure. Worked with an intern on his web/API documentation project. 30 miles.
• Phone calls and follow-ups. Talked with project manager about some projects. He is going to start helping with project management stuff.

AU 3622 Daily Ideas 3/3/2015   -Steve would like to add more default choices to the chooser page. He would like new choices for different sections. Currently we only allow choices for main homepages. Steve would like to see future choices for shopping carts, interfaces, and sub homepages, etc. This also includes choices for skins, templates, themes, and other options. Tons of choices.
-As part of a brainstorming session we talked about ways to use adilas black boxes for eCommerce. The guys also wanted to change the file structure and use sub domains and alternate URL paths. More talk about skins and full page redesigns. One of the main topics was paths and structure. Lots of talk about web hosting options.
-We are seeing that the future may be in web hosting. People need a place to park their data, their files, their images, etc. People want access to their data and also want to be able to customize things easily. The key is easily… : )
-Plan and work as if web hosting and data storage will be in the future plans. CMS – Content Management Systems.
-Subs and subpage settings are going to be coming soon. It is crazy to see how almost everything is splitting and breaking down into subs and smaller pieces.
-We are also seeing more needs to be able to sync up databases between live and local platforms. We have developers who need live data. We have multiple servers that need a master copy of different tables such as help files, permissions, web/API socket documentation, tax and withholding tables, etc. Data interchange – based on permissions and settings – will be needed soon. Interesting.
-With the data interchange … we may want to provide tools to allow a two party agreements to transfer and migrate data. Provide the tools and let the different practices create their own relationships. See adilas university back in 2008 dealing with two party agreements. Both requests, and approvals of data interchange.
-On black boxes… what about using pages that include another page include. Basically stacking includes as needed. Includes are ways of breaking up bigger pages into smaller re-useable parts and pieces.

AU 3618 Daily Tasks 3/4/2015   • Paying bills. Emails and recording notes from yesterday.
• On the phone with a software developer and independent computer consultant. He has worked for WordPerfect, Avery Labels, and other companies. WE had a good chat and talk. He may want to do some projects for us.
• Went into Bridgerland to work with the interns. An intern and I spent almost the entire day working on the solar system – level 4 databases. Great session and lots of progress today. Two interns were working on adilas API sockets.
• We took a break for an hour today to teach the guys some accounting basics. We used up an entire whiteboard and I had a blast showing how different things interact through cause and effect relationships. We talked about old school debits and credits (1494 A.D.), T-accounts, chart of accounts, P&L, balance sheet, adjustments, journal entries, ledgers, etc. We also talked about new school accounting, and 3D World Building. We talked about time, space, resources, money, flow, data assembly line, the story behind the numbers, checkpoints, flex, and roll call principles. Super fun… : ) Here is a small rendition of what the white board looked like…
• See notes from 10/14/14 for more info on the progression and how we got to 3D Accounting and 3D World Building. Went through the whole progression: (Please see sketch on scan in photo gallery): (Includes: horse, cart & horse, Operations & Accounting flex bubble, Old school accounting and operations batching missing time (gap of time),T-accounts, 3D assembly line for data, 3D World Building (x = time, y = resources, z = space).

AU 3623 Daily Ideas 3/4/2015   -I had a lot of fun today talking about the progression of accounting… We went from debits and credits to cause and effect relationships as they flow and pass through space and time. Sort of an overview of old school accounting vs. new school accounting. See small drawing on other page. Fun little session. At the end of the teaching session… an intern wanted to see that – the progression and data assembly line for data – in real life – inside of adilas. We did some sales, deposits, and ran P&L and balance sheets to show what was going on. Good stuff!
-I enjoy learning how things work. It has been super fun to learn things along the way.

AU 3619 Daily Tasks 3/5/2015   • Emails and three new logos for different companies.
• On the phone with Steve catching up on new changes.
• Small logo changes for a company out of Arizona.
• Went in to Bridgerland to work with my guys. I helped an intern get started on copying look-up tables in the solar system. He is doing great. Met with another intern and went over round 2 for eCommerce. We determined that round 2 will include black boxes, JSON object settings, internal API socket calls, templates, new css options, etc. We also determined to add 3 more black boxes. The new ones are… navigations, side bar left, and side bar right. 30 miles.
• Worked with an intern on his mini project for gift cards. We were working on the add process and flow for pages. Another intern and I had a conference call with a consultant about a custom report that one of her clients needed.
• I then spent most of the afternoon working with Dave doing project management stuff. We met with two interns on a custom project for a client. Dave and I then sat down and went over the request for proposal for the Bridgerland Custom Fit database project. We ran some first round numbers and talked through things. Dave is going to be helping more with things as we go forward.

AU 3625 Daily Ideas 3/6/2015   -The current goal seems to be breaking things down into small, more modular pieces and components. That is fin and well, but that could be a very large project. Good thing that we like huge projects.
-I’ve been thinking about doing some Adobe Flash development. I would also like to learn more java script. Use black box concepts and make small Flash widgets, graphs, animations, etc. Think functional eye candy… That sounds fun.
-Back on 2/14/15 I have some tools for working with data. We sketched out a bunch… That might be a cool Flash project… Here are some more ideas: (Please see sketches on scan in photo gallery)

Data and tools concepts:
- Containers or buckets
- Video or multimedia
- Smoke & mirrors
- 3D World Building Model - x = time, y = resources, z = space
- One-to-many relationships
- Cookies
- Cloud or session
- Blender or mixer
- Audio
- Black box custom
- Any device – client side or devices

AU 3621 Daily Tasks 3/7/2015   • Emails and working on the code for the advanced add to cart pages.
• On the phone with Steve going over code and projects. We were on a GoToMeeting session for the entire time. We worked on mini block box code, scanning driver’s licenses, and full page take overs for eCommerce black boxes. We also talked about a full CSS face lift and options for our clients. Steve wants an intern to keep pushing on some CSS templates and options to help with look and feel. We also want an intern to keep going with icon menus and graphics.
• Working on the advanced add to cart page.
• Started testing code on the advanced add to cart page.
• Testing new code on the advanced add to cart page. Added campaign tracking and in-line discounts to the page. Trying to finish up that project. I still have a little ways to go… Making progress through.

AU 3743 Daily Tasks 3/9/2015   • Working on a custom piece of code for the shopping cart. We have a client that needs a special tax fee added to every shopping cart. We are using a black box to add the custom functionality.
• Tested and posted files online.
• Emails and paying bills.
• Emails and phone calls.
• New logo for a client.
• A contact came over to show a developer and me his label software package. We ended up doing a GoToMeeting session and including Steve in the demo. This contact is very sharp and has some great skills and almost 30 years of experience. We sent him home with a jump drive full of files and videos.
• Working with a developer on signing off on his new API socket authorization methods and flow.
• On the phone with Steve doing a GoToMeeting session and working on some on his code.
• My sister came over and we got a call from a client. We went over options for backorders, reward points for referrals, split payments, and eCommerce stuff.
• Working with my sister on options and training for the client. Lots of planning and running through scenarios.
• Sign-off session with a developer on new pieces of the API sockets.
• Uploaded files to servers. Good session.
• Talking to my sister about other tech support calls & questions.
• Light clean-up and follow-up.
• Emails and signing off on code.

AU 3744 Daily Tasks 3/10/2015   • Uploading files and doing emails.
• Finished up the code for the advanced add to cart page. Uploaded files, tested, and even merged current branch into the master code repository inside of bit bucket. A developer has us working with some version control stuff to help coordinate efforts.
• Went into Bridgerland to work. Did some email stuff and worked with a developer on some sales and consulting items. 30 miles.
• Met with Dave on a client database project and proposal. We both then met with the manager for about 1.5 hours in his office. We took notes and he showed us around. After that, Dave and I met and went over things. We put some prices on paper and worked through the different parts of the proposal.
• Working with a developer on the web/API documentation project. We also work on some printable layout options.
• Conference call with a developer and a client out of California. We are planning a special roll call report that is a one pager. The report is a roll call page and is a cross between a P&L (Profit & Loss) report and a mini balance sheet. Eventually she wants the report to be exportable to feed an outside accounting program with mappings to specific chart of accounts and sub types.
• Working with my brother on graphics and ideas for showing developers tools and functions. We looked at his pages and graphics and sketched out ideas. We also went through the progression of the data assembly line. Lots of sketches and drawings. We also talked about how our vision has grown over the years.
• Working with my brother and a developer on different projects. My brother is doing graphics and the developer is working on the adilas API and getting things ready to release to the public.
• Got a call from a developer. Apparently, another developers and I made some API socket changes that effected this developer’s 3rd party socket settings. So, I went in and made some tweaks to make things work. Made some changes to the web/API documentation process. This allows different access levels to the API sockets. We have normal, 3rd parts, universe, internal, and demo options.

AU 3763 Daily Ideas 3/10/2015   -Principle based sign-off programming. Principles may go farther than tons of hard fast rules.
-I sure would like to work with Flash and Flash navigations options. Maybe even dynamic options like the Moore Digital Ideas website. Provide numerous options.

AU 3745 Daily Tasks 3/11/2015   • Went in to Bridgerland to work with my guys. I spent the first session working with a new intern in setting up a new corporation and world for him. We did some light training and I sketched out a few drawings to help with the training. 30 miles.
• Prepping some files for a developer to help with a digital migration process.
• Met with a developer to work on the API changes. We went over where we messed up and plans to fix the API socket pieces.
• An intern came by and he and I chatted about options for training and employment. He started the internship back in January but got busy with school and such.
• After that, a developer’s friend came by. He has a vacant office building here in town. He is also a marketing guy and consultant. Fun meeting.
• The developer and I then worked on some look-up methods and functions. I helped a developer with a training class for two interns. The developer was teaching them how to migrate data from Microsoft Excel into adilas. He did a great job and both the interns got it to work.
• After everybody left, a developer and I stayed around and worked on some new methods to download and transport tables from servers to servers through the API. This will be handy if a person wants to get a table or part of a table from a remote source. We still have to add some security but we got the process started. Busy day today!
• Uploaded files and ran some customer migrations. Paying bills.

AU 3764 Daily Ideas 3/11/2015   -Another idea for a sub of time or function of time is a slush fund. Kind of like the manager’s checkbook application. People need to manage funds and money accounts without it effecting an actual bank. We ran into this while talking a contact. He had state funds that he wanted to allocate to different clients. He had multiple different accounts and was doing some slush fund budgeting. This might be a great addition to round two elements of time. Budgets, obligated, promised, and actual, cash flow.
-For quick entry… It may be nice to add a quick grid type entry system. Think of a spreadsheet. Line things up in rows and columns and allow it to flex or expand as needed. Think simple.
(See sketch in photo gallery: column headings, edit buttons or options, add new button)
It might be cool if we could save each entry as it happens. Or we could just keep all the data in a form and add it all at the end. Either way!

AU 3746 Daily Tasks 3/12/2015   • Went in to Bridgerland to work with my guys. Started out the day working with an intern to see how his training is going.
• I then worked with another developer to help restore his local database. Once we got that going we worked on World Building and splitting apart the main database.
• Most of the day was spent with a developer working on looking over code and working together on his new code to copy and transfer full tables between servers using crazy dynamics and API sockets. Pretty intense. The developer came up with the plan. I mostly just helped with debugging and consulting type stuff. 30 miles.
• Reading a letter that my dad wrote to a guy who is very good and GIS and GPS about 3D event tracking and plans to head in that direction. My dad is really excited about the 3D event planning and 3D event tracking stuff.

AU 3765 Daily Ideas 3/12/2015   -We are seeing more and more need to add in the ice down or ice-down date. The other day we had a need and it wasn’t even from financial based data. Basically people want to enter in their data, change it as needed, and eventually lock it down (ice-down). The analogy we use is water changing into slush, snow, and finally into ice.
(Please see sketch in photo gallery: Water – Slush or snow – Ice)
-Stop and listen! Sometimes we get going so fast we forget to stop and listen. There is huge power there. Sometimes it is harder to stop, look, listen, and feel than it is to work, go, push or pull. Sometimes we choose activity and being busy instead of peach, prayer, and tranquility. We need a balance in order to be well rounded.
-As a note from the day… I got a call from one of my interns today. He had some questions and is reworking the adilas eCommerce side. Basically, his project is expanding and blowing up a bit. He just needed some direction and permission. We talked about goals, scopes, and audience. We went in circles and he was granted permission to go forward. The underlying principles are somewhat more important than the way of achieving them. Anyway, I just wanted to note that the principles and concepts are the base and what we do to get there may contain multiple variables, ways, and directions.

AU 3747 Daily Tasks 3/13/2015   • Recording hours and notes from yesterday. Sometimes my notebook and journal help me slow down and focus. I know it takes tons of time, but I have greatly enjoyed it. My notebooks have helped to enlarge my memory. Like the old saying… Sometimes, the faintest line or scratch on paper is worth more than the brightest memory. Records help enlarge our memory.
• Signing off on a file for Steve. Pushed it up live.
• On the phone with Steve talking about carving up the invoice tables per corporation. That seems to be the hot spot right now.
• Stopped at Temple Fork, up Logan Canyon. Got out my notebook and read for a while in the sun. I’ve been having fun reading in October 2014. Lots of new and exciting developments. I wish I had more time to stop, listen, review, and observe. Those things are fun too. : )

AU 3748 Daily Tasks 3/14/2015   • On the phone with Steve. We did a GoToMeeting session and worked on Steve’s code projects. We did some driver’s license look-ups, custom shopping cart code for a client, and talked about other projects. We talked about developers, billing, timelines, budgets, and updates on other projects. I updates Steve on the API documentation project and we went in and looked around a bit.
• New logos for clients.
• Emails and trying to catch up.

AU 3749 Daily Tasks 3/16/2015   • Emails about quantity monitoring per cart and advanced options for flex grid and custom PO settings. Wrote another email dealing with copying invoices between systems.
• Reviewing and reading over a proposal that Dave sent to me in regards to a database project. This deals with students and clients, etc.
• Meeting with a new developer. We went over some needs, dynamics, commissions, options, current status on some different projects. I showed him our current label and barcode generator app. We talked about future label needs for shipping, packaging, invoicing, etc. Tons of different things. We also talked about training and the need to help with video and media based training for different organizations. We talked about the potential of mixing the LTF (Learn to Freeride) project with the adilas media/content project. That will be fun to get that all put together here soon. Good stuff.
• Emails and recording bills and invoices from the developers.
• Working with a developer on a custom project for a system-wide roll call page. Basically, it is a cross between a P&L and a balance sheet. The end goal is to feed in all known compartments and daily sums into hidden system-wide elements of time to hold the daily roll calls and daily sums. Anyway, he is working on this new report for a client.
• I also helped an intern on some World Building pieces to migrate huge tables with data. Other random phone calls and emails. Reading up on ColdFusion code frameworks. An intern wanted me to read up on these as an option.

AU 3750 Daily Tasks 3/17/2015   • Reading over and editing a request for proposal for a client database project. Original proposal was done and written by Dave.
• Went in to Bridgerland to work with my guys. Totaled up hours of instruction for January, February, and March so far… We are over 1,000 man hours working with the interns and new developers. That is awesome!
• I worked with an intern signing off on some code. We lined out the next little part of the World Building project. We booked another month there at Bridgerland to use their facility.
• Another intern came in and we had a great class discussion on application and page setup and frameworks. We filled up the whiteboard and talked lots of concepts. We also determined a couple of other needed black boxes. We decided to get rid of the side bar left and side bar right black boxes. Those are part of the body. The two new ones are head or top part of the HTML and end or bottom part of the HTML. These places allow for css, java script, JQuery, etc.
• Bridgerland was a happening place today. We had guys working on World Building API documentations, graphics, project management, proposals, graphics, and finishing up mini projects.
• I was working with my brother on his projects for his internship. His graphics and web pages are looking good. His project is showing financial flow for simple sales and inventory tracking. He and I also went through a midterm evaluation. He scored very well. He is doing great.
• Dave and I then went over a proposal for the client database project. We read through the document together and made some notes on changes.
• I then worked with an intern on his mini project. He is getting closer on finishing it up. It is a small fisherman’s app to record fishing trips. Anyway, we worked on database updates and page flow.
• While I was working with different people, a developer was helping to coordinate other projects and working on API socket stuff. He is doing a great job. 30 miles.

AU 3766 Daily Ideas 3/17/2015   In eCommerce land… we determined that we would layout the pages as such…
(Please see sketch in photo gallery)
Logic & Flow:
- Top comments & page description stuff
- Page parameters
- Validation & logic
- Full display of all page variables in one object or structure called “pageVars_st”
All Black Boxes:
- All black boxes and custom includes
- Custom display & output
As a note… we determined that we need an html head black box as well as an html end black box

AU 3751 Daily Tasks 3/18/2015   • Emails and recording notes in my notebook.
• Went in to Bridgerland to work with my guys. Helped an intern start the migration process of splitting corp-specific data between databases. Had a meeting with my brother and his advisor for his internship.
• More work with an intern on the database project. Lined up an intern on his next project. He will be prepping things for round two of elements of time. Spent an hour or so with another intern, signing off on his mini project. Busy day! 30 miles.

AU 3767 Daily Ideas 3/18/2015   Possible community funded projects:
- Sub inventory & cost controls (packaging)
- GPS & GIS – subs of time
- World Building
- eCommerce face lift
- Black box project for custom code
- Ice-down date
- Sales & promotions
- Emailing invoices & quotes
- On-line customer bill pay portal
- Customer loyalty points & gift cards
- Automating more of the balance sheet and financials
- Sub locations
- Sub phases
- Open up the full adilas API socket back end
- Etc.
- Tons of options:
- Reflexive side of the flex grid
- Real in-line extensions
- Custom dynamic labels
- Dynamic roll call page
- Custom page settings

-I need a mini receipt to help out with split invoice payments. I’m thinking about community funded projects and invoices. Basically getting payments from multiple sources for a single invoice.

-On the community invoices… I’d like to use the water, slush, to ice analogy for these projects. Liquid and loose at first and then getting more and more firm as the projects get funded. As things get funded, we’ll firm up deadlines, details, and full project details. It is ok just to start and go from there.

AU 3752 Daily Tasks 3/19/2015   • Big email report about the progress on the adilas API sockets and customer facing API.
• Went in to Bridgerland to work with my guys. I worked with an intern on the API documentation project. We made some small code tweaks and then rolled into the copy and paste process of harvesting code and comments for documentation. I had a fun meeting with a guy out of the Logan area. He is a sales rep and business job coach (consultant). Anyway, we met and chatted about options for using and selling adilas. He is all about simple and being willing to break tradition. We had a great chat. He showed me some cool online apps for smart phones and other devices. We talked about possible 3rd party integration or development of our own apps. We then went up to the whiteboard and had a fun little session. I really enjoyed the meeting.
• Worked with an intern on more world building and data migration. I also met with another intern to go over a request for proposal. This is for the client database job.
• Partway through the day today, a developer and I had to fix some errors and error messages on both data 0 and data 2. Things are definitely getting more complex with multiple servers, test environments, live environments, and multiple developers playing the game. It got a little stressful due to some unknowns and users not being able to access certain pages.
• I worked with a developer on getting up some new code to track and monitor errors and error handling. He wrote the code and I helped debug and guide the shop. Awesome day! I’m so grateful that I have some help to push some of these new projects ahead. 30 miles.
• A developer came over and up from Salt Lake City. We went over some of his code that he wrote for the adilas API sockets. His code is done in ASP.net (Microsoft active server pages or dot net code). We are planning on having a number of code libraries and demo apps to help other developers get started on some custom code. We talked about lots of future options and had a good time. We got him all paid up and I got his new code files. He is a great guy. I’d love to see him be a part of our team as we go down the line.
• Made a couple of late night code changes to help with some reported error messages. It’s been a busy day today. Small tweaks to discount campaign tracking and custom PDF labels.

AU 3768 Daily Ideas 3/19/2015   Notes and ideas from a meeting with a Business Coach here in Logan:
- Make a small mileage app or mileage log that could record miles and mileage for tax purposes. Maybe just tie it to a single user as a system basic permission.
- Be able to make a simple budget and cash flow statement or document. Maybe something in Excel, Google Sheets, Google Docs, a dynamic grid, or maybe just use the adilas media/content application. I keep forgetting about the media/content application. Very powerful. It might be cool to have a simple 3rd party solution and then be able to interact between the different parties. That would be cool.
- We need to get into mobile apps and dumbed down products and interfaces that feed the bigger picture.
- We need to make a personal or household version of adilas. Super simple, really flexible, and minimalistic yet feeding or built on the main adilas core.
- His comments were – “I would love to get everything in one place and be simple to use.” That is kind of the goal. We may have to get a little bit deeper before we can really become simple. However, that is coming! Yee haw!

AU 3753 Daily Tasks 3/20/2015   • Lots of emails, updates, and then on a phone call with Steve. We talked about projects, new angles, needs, and plans. We’ve had some great conversations over the years. Random side though… Last Sunday we were talking about how faith and works go hand in hand. I think that Steve and I have really tried to mix both faith and works over the years. More of that to come. We love to dream, but we also pray, communicate, and then get in there and work on things. It has been a fun relationship.
• After going snowboarding, I went out to my car and recorded notes in my notebook from loose pages and post-it notes. I sat at a picnic table and wrote for a while. I then drove down the canyon and stopped at a campsite called Red Banks. I put on a hoodie and found a sunny place to sit, write, and record things here in my notebook. This little notebook has been a good little buddy for me over the years. Good stuff!
• Rereading old entries in my notebook. I’m currently still back in October of 2014. Big month for us. I’m enjoying reading ideas and concepts and then seeing those pieces mature, grow, and become part of our plan. It is really fun to see the progress and to be reminded of blessings and direction that has been received in the past. I know God loves and watches over His children. It is fun to be able to see it and feel it!

AU 3754 Daily Tasks 3/21/2015   • Emails, phone messages, and getting organized.
• On the phone with Steve going over code and general questions. We did a GoToMeeting session and covered some code and custom queue questions. Busy times right now.
• On the phone with Dave going over a proposal. We decided to push some things up on adilas and use the media/content section to pass files around.
• Paying bills and phone calls.
• Reviewing a proposal for the client database project. It is a technical college and they teach classes and help with training and certifications for small business. They need a new system, so we are bidding on their project. Dave wrote up the original proposal, we’ve gone through a couple different versions. Most of my day today was spent working on the verbage and flavor of the proposal. I had fun with it. We’ll see what they think.

AU 3769 Daily Ideas 3/21/2015   -We may need to allow discounts per part category and per customer types. Timeframes may also be part of that puzzle. These values (subs of discounts) may need to be part of the custom button builders.
-We are seeing two different levels of how adilas page flows are going. One way is classic adilas with multiple black boxes per page. The other direction is a skin or 3rd part solution with or without black boxes. These are the two ways things are headed right now.
-To get the most out of the pages… both classic adilas and custom skins or 3rd party solutions will most likely use multiple black boxes and custom code includes. That allows for custom usage and any special cases.

AU 3755 Daily Tasks 3/23/2015   • Recording notes and working on new logos for clients out of California.
• Working on a base camp image to help people know what we are doing. Added the new anchors and basecamp image to the different sites. The analogy of anchors and a basecamp are like climbing a mountain. At certain points you setup anchors to help secure yourself. This allows you to stabilize and feel reassured. See notes back from 4/17/14 that deal with base camps, anchors, and levels. Almost a year later… crazy how time flies.
• Phone calls and emails.
• On the phone with a developer talking about projects and needs. He has been pushing really hard on the adilas API socket project.
• Another intern developer came over. We went into town to demo a financial services client. They sell insurance and other financial products and services. Great demo. They wanted to write us a check for the whole amount. We rescheduled for tomorrow. 20 miles.
• He then came over to work with me on some projects. We got a number of tech support calls. We started working on a new project that adds a default discount percentage to each customer type.
• My sister came over and we had a group meeting to plan out what we need to do to get the insurance company all setup. Wrote down some plans.
• On the phone with this same intern. We did a GoToMeeting session and worked on the new discount per customer type project. We added the new field, scripted changes, and cascaded the new settings around the site.
• Finished up the java script stuff for the customer types to discount rates. Lots of testing and posted files online.

AU 3756 Daily Tasks 3/24/2015   • Finished up the proposal for the client database project. Sent that off as well as other emails.
• Went into Bridgerland to work. Helped an intern with data drill-downs.
• Worked with another intern on data migration. Talked with another intern about some black box direction.
• On the phone with Steve going over some custom bids. We also talked about a client who wants to mine data. Basically, the client wants to virtually give away accounts (to their clients) and then be able to get at the end data. Interesting angle. Basically, they would payout $4,000 to get their client started. This includes paying for a year of adilas, new computers, and point of sale hardware. They would then have their client sign an agreement that they could pull reports on the data. We don’t know this, but I imagine that they would then sell that data to different parties as market research. Anyway, a random angle. Interesting. 30 miles.
• Went out to Smithfield to work with an intern on migrating data. We did some setup and light consulting with a new client. My sister joined us on the setup. The intern and I combed data and did some other prep work.
• Invoices, emails, and reading an article that was written about Steve, David & I. Steve sent me the link. Fun to see what people say about us.

AU 3770 Daily Ideas 3/24/2015   We have a number of requests to merge customer data. Basically, people end up creating duplicate records. They then want to clean things up. We may need a find and replace or some sort of merge function. This may end up needing some deep changes. Maybe use the find and replace parts section as a pattern. Customer data runs deep and touches multiple tables and sub tables. To help… start with these tables:
- Additional customers
- All inv
- Corporations
- Customer contacts
- Customer history
- Customer log
- Customer photos
- Customer queue
- Customers
- Elements of time
- Invoices
- PO invoice lines X (some number)
- Quotes
- Statements
- Tie in flex grid
- Etc.
Also remember to change photo names and also check for generics with a main id and an app type id of 8. Check for the CMS media main, tie in flex grid, time sub assignments, and time sub pool assignments.

-Along with merging customers and customer records. We have also had requests for merging vendors and payee records. Similar to customers… payees are used in tons of tables. They also have photos, media/content, flex grid, and time assignments. Remember tables that use main id and app type id 9 & 10. Number 9 = vendor/payee & 10 = employee. We may have to check both. A payee adjustment could run very deep.
-With our community funded projects, how are we going to handle pledged or promised funds and monies? I think we could just add an internal payment and focus on operations. We could use a user-maintained balance sheet item to temporarily offset values as needed. Maybe I’ll do a pledged amount on GPS & GIS tracking for my dad and mom. I’ll go figure it out.
-Idea from Steve… what if we used the existing page hooks right this second. Page hooks, meaning places that we could change the look and feel right now. We have plans to add 8-10 black boxes on every page. We already have 3 virtual black boxes on every page inside the secure side of the adilas application. Let’s use those to start with. This is 3 black boxes per page without any recoding of the site.
-What if we used the session scope (after a valid login) and the chooser page to control corporation level settings as well as user level settings. We also have a personal settings page that could be used as needed. This could handle things like headers, footers, css stuff, skins, templates, custom pages, favorites, etc. Using the session scope, the custom header and footer black boxes, and custom settings could be awesome!
-Small clean-up note… when editing customer log notes and elements of time (notes and sub comments) and their notes, maybe reconvert HTML break tags back into enter signs. That may help with editing for non HTML users. What this means is, we convert returns and enter signs (from a keyboard) into HTML break tags to help show what was entered. In order not to scare people, maybe un-convert or revert back to simple returns and enter sings for editing. That way the user doesn’t have to know any HTML or web code.

AU 3757 Daily Tasks 3/25/2015   • On the phone with Steve going over the API socket pieces and what is needed and what is done.
• Went in to Bridgerland to work. Spent some time with an intern on database World Building stuff. Helped another intern on some data migration stuff. Got another intern started on some code to help save report settings. If we could save some reports per user and per corporation… that would be awesome! 30 miles.
• Conference call with my dad and a guy who specialized in GIS. We talked about apps, services, modems, SMS messages, cell and cellular data packets, and even options for GPS as a service. Great call. My dad and I figured out that GPRS modems were a huge key to the GPS data world. GPRS stand for something like… Global Packet Receiving Model… or something like that. Basically, it is a hub or modem that sends and receives text messages between GPS units, cell phones, and other devices that play in that world. He helped us with some great break-throughs. I was very impressed. See additional notes later on.
• Helping interns on their projects.
• Conference call with a client. My sister, two developers, and I were on the call. Great call and we had some good discussions on different topics. We talked about PayPal, skinning the shopping cart, distributing costs of goods sold, affiliate programs, email and text message blasts, and referral marketing. We briefly talked about site analytics and point systems. We committed to some deadlines and promised a written proposal of work that would be done. Exciting times.
• Worked with an intern on some API socket documentation. I then spent some time with another intern doing customer migration stuff.

AU 3771 Daily Ideas 3/25/2015   -Prep and plan for the developer’s meeting tomorrow. We are planning a class discussion and whiteboard session. This deals with eCommerce, black boxes, and custom skins.
-Paper and pencil will work great! Make some copies for the guys.
-Random though… Have or sponsor a competition to design a header or footer. Kind of a css competition of sorts. Create a standard set of rules and then allow people to comment and rank the submissions. Get the adilas community involved in the project. Use elements of time to show case the options.
-Concepts may go farther than actual. It is okay to play in the concept world!

AU 3758 Daily Tasks 3/26/2015   • Went in to Bridgerland to meet and work with my guys. I did some prep work and drew a full page diagram that showed the existing eCommerce and shopping cart interface. It was kind of fast and kind of rough but I got it done. As a note, way back, we decided that a just in time map and navigation process would be really cool. Instead of drawing tons and tons of lines all over the place… it would be cool to show progression and options based on scenarios. That would be cool. Sadly, this quick graphic was not like that, but at least it helped.
• Anyway, we had a group meeting and brainstorming session. We had 8 of us there. We drew on the whiteboard and all of the guys participated. Fun meeting. Lots of vision and potential.
• We talked about new changes, deadlines, eCommerce, how eCommerce is so powerful when connected to the whole operations and accounting side of the equation. We talked about black boxes, concepts, shells, skins, web hosting, domains, sub domains, and API socket integration. The guys were pretty in to it and were catching the vision.
• After the meeting, I worked with an intern on data imports and migration. I also worked with one of the interns on saving report settings and another on his copy and paste project to help with documentation. Worked with another intern on World Building and splitting out databases.
• Went over to the Cache Business Resource Center to meet with a gentleman. We chatted and he asked some questions about our product and what we offer. I drew some sketches and we chatted. He then offered us to use the CBRC (Cache Business Resource Center) for things we needed for adilas. He will be a good connection down the road.
• Went back to Bridgerland. Worked with two developers on their new eCommerce pieces. Talking with a developer about future plans and potential. The guys are excited.
• Another developer came over and we worked on Oregon state tax withholdings and tax stuff.
• On the phone with an intern. We did a GoToMeeting session and looked at his database migration code. It looked good. We decided that we needed to add a new field for customer SSN (social security numbers). We also need to encrypt that value for storage.

AU 3759 Daily Tasks 3/27/2015   • On the phone with Steve going over things. Lots of stuff is happening. Crazy times. Quick emails.
• Stopped off at the Red Banks campground up Logan Canyon and got caught up on my notebook. I was up at Beaver Mountain (working). I made a bunch of runs (snowboarding) and then went to catch up on my notebook. This notebook has really helped me release and record what is going on. AU 3773 Daily Ideas 3/27/2015   -While at Beaver Mountain ski resort, I rode up the lift with a guy. He is the owner of a men’s clothing store here in Logan, UT. His business jingle is – “How you look is the first message you deliver.” As we talked on the way up the hill on the lift, it got me thinking… What message are we delivering with adilas? Sure it is a flexible work hours but it doesn’t look very exciting. I think it is about time to change that.
-As a kind or/sort of blessing – okay – a real blessing. We’ve been able to fly low and under the radar and for quite a while. That has been a huge blessing for us.
-A while back we were planning some interface changes. As part of that planning, we wanted to do a graphical homepage or sub homepage for each section inside the system. Basically, an organized list of graphics, icons, menus, buttons, and links. Make sure and do some research inside of adilas university on graphical menus, homepages, and icon menus. We may need to back to 12/23/10 interactive map stuff. (Graphical layout)
-When showing page options and layouts, show feeder pages or sections, options, and just in time connections to the pages. (Flow charts)
-One of the icons was going to be for training and education. It is okay to put the training and education graphics and links as under construction. Maybe that will help us to get some funding on training for adilas university per section or page section.
-When showing pages, also include a generic action page, a generic database connections, and even a generic custom page option. Help tell the story through pictures. Just in time connections and flow.
-Put a link to the community funded projects on the graphical start menu pages. This might be a great spot to collect data and sharing as well as let people request pieces and options. Basically, a link or page to go to our forums and/or sharing page.
-On the quick search, we need to add options for media/content. That would be cool.
-We also need to add new keyword options to get to the new and upcoming graphical start menu pages or graphical homepages. Maybe use “gg” for graphics graphic. Or maybe “start” or “ghome” (graphical homepage), or “menu” or something like that. These keywords would then be used to go the correct pages. For example: using the quick search, select invoices and then type “ghome” or select deposits and type in “ghome” to go to the graphical start menu or graphical homepage for the different sections.
-I know all the training is not done yet… but it may really help to provide links, help files, short cuts, graphics, videos, etc. to help out our users. The more they learn on their own… the less we need to teach them and hold their hands. Empower the people!
-When searching the developer’s notebook on adilas university… Allow for more than one search term or phase at a time. Maybe use a “t” (plus sign) or some other character to allow multi search phrases per URL link. Then on the page separate out the phrases and play accordingly. For example: some page name cfm, search = base camp and base camp and anchors or some page name cfm, search = base camp – base camp – anchors. Basically, “base camp”, “basecamp”, and “anchors” – some way to pass in multi’s.
-On the graphical homepages or start menus… We need a section that could control settings both on an individual level as well as on a World or Corporation level. I’d like to show everything, even if the user doesn’t have the correct permissions. Maybe even use a green light, red light indicator to help show permissions.

AU 3760 Daily Tasks 3/28/2015   • Emails and sorting through requests and different emails.
• Working on different logos for companies. New logos for a company.
• Light research on graphical displays interactive map, touch screen, and icon menus.
• New logo for another company.
• Working with a developer on some payroll and tax withholdings. I also wrote a recommendation letter for a developer. He is applying for a scholarship of sorts.
• On the phone a local contact. He is hoping to be a sales rep and adilas consultant for the Logan and Salt Lake City area. Setup a new adilas account and wrote an email to both he and my sister with some instructions. Our goal is to have him help get the leads and my sister help with setup and consulting.
• Did a couple more logos. Emails, paid bills, and worked with a developer on taxes and withholdings for payroll. Oregon state taxes.

AU 3774 Daily Ideas 3/28/2015   -On the header and footer competition… allow multiple submissions or options. Also, allow people to hide/show, drop-down, slide, stack, fade, transition, etc.
-Once we get the new headers and footers, there will most likely be custom options. Make sure and plan for the custom options and/or settings.
-We got a request to limit which items can receive a discount. Basically, people want to give discounts but limit what items are allowed to be discounted. I can see that we need two possible settings. One is for an entire part category and the other is on an individual item basis. If we were dealing with sales and promotions, the discount settings could be built out quite far, if needed.

Adi 1001 Duplicate Or Copy User Settings & Permissions 3/30/2015

This is now being handled with another project, where we will have roles that you can assign different users to.

We have talked about templates, but thinking copying a single user's permission might be easier than that as a direction.

When you click the button to duplicate, make sure you delete the user name and other info.

We have had this request at other times… being able to setup one user and then copy their permissions would be awesome. We have also had requests to create a permission template that could be applied as needed. Great ideas. I got an email dated 4/3/19 with a number of other ideas that would be nice if we could do for permissions. For example: print only selected permissions, have better presets, be able to copy permissions or setup your own presets (named presets and grouping), update the look and feel, etc.

Adi 1014 Inventory Alerts - Max & Min Thresholds - Quantity & Order Monitoring 3/30/2015

4/16/2020: With all of the current need for e-commerce, the need for buffers on the item level has come in to play and is wanted. In order to beef up needs to be location specific.

Buffers do exist in e-commerce.

There is a category based buffer in the shopping cart (two of them). The one in the shopping cart can be configured on a per category level and even on a per item level.

Super high level- needs to be on a per item/per location basis.

////// new notes on 1/6/2020 - Meeting with Brandon, Steve, and Cory

- Steve wants to get this inventory engine built into a reordering system. There is more than just mins and maxes, we have to deal with sales, quantities, how fast/slow things move, lead times, things that need to be sold, restocked, and even never stocked again. Lots of ideas of algorithms and building in logic to these pieces.

- We would like to create a good game plan (what are we going to build and how will it benefit our users) and get it funded.

- Steve also wants to get Alan and other developers involved.

- As a sales happens, we will start hitting a special weighted function (algorithm) that helps us see what a sale means. The weighted portion of the puzzle would help us know what is moving, what is effective, and other virtual marketing and sales matrix options. Getting the real meanings bubbling up to the surface. Kinda like a performance level or batting average (sports analogy).

- There were some talks about building out ways to catch this weighted value and what steps would come after that (refinement of that process).

- There is a still a human element that needs to play into the mix. There is also a maintenance level to keep these things (numbers, values, and settings) updated.

- In order to really to this correctly, we a really need to build it out on a per location basis. Winter boots sell much better in the North than they do in the desert.

- To do reorders, you almost need a way to pour over sales reports and past order forms in order to get an idea of what is needed.

Adi 1015 Internal Cost Corrections (ICC's) - Correcting Cost of Goods Sold To Match Quantities & Values 3/30/2015

Deals with parent inventory and certain items running on previous or current costs instead of true cost model.

Adjust costing down. Does not change quantities.

Michael from Alabama has contributed to these ideas. Would love to help with coding.

AU 3761 Daily Tasks 3/30/2015   • Planning for the adilas community funded projects. Started working on the project of getting things ready to put up and online. Went through my list and added over 30+ community funded projects to elements of time. Set rough prices and basic project titles.
• Added a number of new community funded projects. Over 40 currently. Working with an intern to sign off on his first full method API socket method. This is the first one that he has done start to end.
• Emails and responding to custom code request.
• Working on opening up the developer’s notebook section for all adilas users. This will be direct access to all of my notebook notes and entries. My sister has spent countless hours working in the background scanning images and typing out the different entries. It is exciting to get this section up and going. I still have some more work to make it go live, but it is coming.
• On the phone with a client going over payroll stuff. I also had a phone call with Steve to go over the API sockets and where things are at. Light documentation on the Full Circle integration.

AU 3775 Daily Ideas 3/30/2015   -On elements of time… add a note section to the sub action logs. Also, allow each corporation to show/hide which values to use. It would also be cool if they could add their own values.
-On community funded projects… It would be cool to set aside monies and funds for industry specific logic, flow, and interfaces. Things or projects like retail, deli, restaurant, plumbing, construction, storage, ag/farm, salon, trailers, used cars & trucks, project management, clinics, financial services, home or personal, etc. Tons of options. Tons of verticals. Tons of potential.

AU 3762 Daily Tasks 3/31/2015   • Went in to Bridgerland to work with my guys. They are all doing well. I worked with an intern and made some code changes to help the web/API documentation stuff work better. We added a number of links, verbage changes, and navigation options. I then spent some time with him doing line by line documentation checks and tweaks.
• I had a great meeting with a local consultant and his partner. We chatted for a bit and then moved over to the whiteboard. We talked about systemizing things, data assembly line, and 3D World Building. Great meeting. They scheduled another meeting for next Tuesday to see a demo.
• Spent time working with other interns on their different projects. 30 miles.

AU 3776 Daily Ideas 3/31/2015   -I drew the gap analogy a little bit different today. I added in the horse and the cart. Operations is the horse and accounting is the cart. Operations has to lead. Accounting may still control (reign in) as needed. (Ops – Time – Acc)

-When showing the graphical homepages… Lay them out somewhat similar to the interactive map and GPS core layout. Show small… “You are here indicators”.
o Title at the top
o You are here indicators
o Sub homepage graphics
o Special reports, searches, and settings
o Data & individual options
o Other settings or navigation

-I’m really excited to get the visual display and interface level of adilas. That will be awesome!
